Binding Procedures

You may bind coverage for an account for which you have received a Premium Indication from Pacific Gateway Insurance Agency, provided there are no additions, alterations or omissions to any of the terms of the coverage requested, by following the instructions listed below. Our premium indications are valid for 30 days.

Retail Producers

Fax or e-mail to our office the following:

  1. Written request to bind on your company's letterhead
  2. Indicate the date and time coverage is to begin (never to precede the date and time of your fax or e-mail request for binding)
  3. Our application, signed by the insured
  4. Copy of your trust check made payable to Pacific Gateway Insurance Agency (see below)
  5. Copy of the premium finance agreement, if financed
  6. If not already contracted with Pacific Gateway we will need a Signed Producer's Agreement (contact us for an agreement) along with a copy of your agency's license and the declarations page for your agency E&O.
Note:

Coverage will be bound based on the date and time of your fax or e-mail provided the envelope containing payment is postmarked the same date as your fax or e-mail.

 
The amount of your trust check must be one of the following amounts based on payment type:
 
Not Financed: Total net premium (i.e. total premium less your commission)
Financed: 25% of the total premium less your commission (irrespective of finance company requirements)


Wholesale Producers

Fax or e-mail to our office the following:

  1. Written request to bind on your company's letterhead
  2. Indicate the date and time coverage is to begin (never to precede the date and time of your fax or e-mail request for binding)
  3. List the Named Insured as it is to appear on the policy
  4. If not already contracted with Pacific Gateway we will need a Signed Producer's Agreement (contact us for an agreement) along with a copy of your agency's license and the declarations page for your agency E&O.
Note:

Although it is not mandatory, it is helpful if a copy of the application is sent at the time of binding. Otherwise, please forward as soon as possible.

Coverage will be bound based on the date and time of your fax or e-mail.

Please be sure that you and/or your retail producer have collected payment from the insured as we do not allow flat cancellations.
